Remote Product Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software client seeking a Remote Product Engineer based in the United States. This is a high-autonomy role for an experienced developer who thrives on ambiguity and can take broad product goals from concept to production with minimal guidance. You'll own entire features end-to-end, make critical product and UX decisions independently, and leverage modern AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your workflow.

Responsibilities

• Transform vague, high-level objectives into shipped, functional software with minimal direction
• Own large feature scopes end-to-end: decompose problems, sequence work, and drive projects to completion
• Make independent UX and scope judgment calls—determining what's worth building and what to defer
• Work in rapid iteration cycles: ship working solutions quickly, then refine based on real user feedback
• Integrate agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) into your daily development workflow to maximize efficiency
• Proactively surface blockers, tradeoffs, and key decisions with clear, concise communication

What We're Looking For

• 4-5+ years of professional software development experience with strong engineering fundamentals
• Demonstrated high agency: proven track record of taking ambiguous requirements and delivering without detailed specifications
• Fluency with modern AI-assisted development workflows and agentic coding tools
• Full-stack capabilities—comfortable working across the entire technology stack
• Strong product instincts: ability to reason about user experience and priorities like a product owner, not just an executor
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, early-stage, fast-moving environments
• History of shipping side projects, rapid prototypes, or zero-to-one product work
• Clear, concise communicator who provides low-overhead updates and requires minimal check-ins

Pay

This is an hourly independent contractor position. Compensation is negotiable based on your skills and experience level. Payment is processed monthly via wire transfer. Please note that as an independent contractor role, this position does not include paid time off.
