About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the consumer technology sector who is building a strategically significant AI-driven business unit from the ground up. Reporting directly to the CEO and sitting on the Senior Leadership Team, you will own the full P&L for AI Services and shape how artificial intelligence delivers genuine commercial value to both B2B and B2C audiences. This is a builder's role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, moves fast, and can translate AI capability into real revenue.

Responsibilities

In this General Manager role, you will spend your time on:

• Defining and owning the AI Services strategy and roadmap with a clear path to revenue and profitability, including pricing, unit economics, and full P&L accountability
• Identifying and prioritising AI-driven revenue opportunities across consumer and trade audiences, building compelling business cases for the CEO and Board
• Partnering closely with the COO and CTO to shape and deliver the AI product roadmap, ensuring products solve genuine customer problems
• Staying current on AI developments including LLMs, agentic systems, and computer vision, translating these into practical customer value while managing third-party AI partnerships
• Recruiting and leading a cross-functional team spanning product, engineering, data science, and commercial functions
• Representing AI Services on the operating committee and collaborating with Marketing, Sales, and Operations to embed AI capabilities across the organisation
• Overseeing regulatory and ethical considerations in AI product deployment

What We're Looking For

• Proven track record building and scaling a new product line or business unit within consumer technology or marketplace environments
• Experience commercialising B2B software, AI, or data products from concept through to revenue generation
• Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership experience
• Deep understanding of how AI technologies translate into real customer value
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to inspire at Board level and energise teams on the ground
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity and move quickly from strategy to execution
