M365 Modern Workplace Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy that partners with financial services organizations across the Asia-Pacific region. Our talent team is seeking an experienced M365 Modern Workplace Engineer to join their technical operations in Sri Lanka. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple client environments, designing and implementing secure, modern workplace solutions.

Responsibilities

As the M365 Modern Workplace Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Administering and optimizing Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and Microsoft Teams across client platforms
• Monitoring platform health, performance, and service configurations proactively while maintaining documentation and operational procedures
• Managing Microsoft Entra ID, implementing Conditional Access, MFA, SSO, and privileged access controls aligned with security requirements
• Overseeing device provisioning and management using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot, developing compliance and configuration policies
• Implementing security controls using Microsoft Defender, managing compliance capabilities including data protection and retention policies
• Delivering M365 projects including migrations, deployments, and workplace transformations with minimal disruption
• Developing automation solutions using PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, and Power Platform to improve efficiency
• Acting as technical escalation point for complex Microsoft 365 issues and providing guidance to support teams
• Managing changes following governance and ITIL processes while ensuring licensing and capacity optimization

What We're Looking For

• Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive
• Proven experience with identity and access management using Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access, and authentication protocols
• Demonstrated skills in endpoint management using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot across Windows, macOS, and mobile platforms
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks within Microsoft 365, including Defender and data protection policies
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting, Microsoft Graph API, and automation development
• Experience delivering technical projects in multi-client environments with strong stakeholder engagement
• Understanding of ITIL processes and governance frameworks
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues efficiently
• Strong documentation practices and ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
