About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology consulting firm based in Cologne that specializes in enterprise cloud transformations and modern infrastructure solutions. Our client is seeking a senior-level Cloud Engineer or Architect to join their technical team and work directly with customers on strategic cloud initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and design modern cloud architecture solutions for enterprise environments
- Build and operate tailored solutions in cloud and hybrid infrastructures, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Assess existing application landscapes, develop migration strategies to cloud platforms, and execute implementations
- Develop CI/CD pipelines and microservices architectures in collaboration with project teams
- Ensure security, stability, and compliance of IT infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code practices
- Manage build, staging, deployment, and release processes independently
- Provide technical consulting to customers both remotely and on-site
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, or comparable IT qualification
- 3-5 years of professional experience in cloud engineering and architecture
- Strong expertise in cloud development and microservices architecture based on Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Deep knowledge of networking and storage for hybrid and cloud-native application environments
- Proficiency with DevOps/GitOps/CI-CD tools such as GitHub, GitLab, CircleCI, or Tekton
- Software engineering experience with Java/Kotlin and frameworks like Quarkus, Spring Boot, or Micronaut
- Hands-on experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
- Strong scripting and automation skills using Ansible, Terraform, Linux/Bash, and Python
- Quality-focused mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Passion for advancing technologies and methodologies
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Fluency in both German and English (minimum C1 level written and spoken)
- Team-oriented with strong initiative and motivation
