About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy seeking a Senior Full Stack and Backend NodeJS Engineer to join their growing portfolio of projects. This remote role is based in Bolivia and offers the chance to work on challenging, high-impact applications for diverse clients across multiple industries.

The ideal candidate will bring deep backend expertise with Node.js and TypeScript, along with proven experience building secure, scalable systems in AWS. You'll work in a collaborative environment that values quality, continuous learning, and professional growth.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop low-latency API services using Node.js and TypeScript in AWS environments
• Build and maintain scalable RESTful APIs that serve multi-tenant applications
• Implement SDK integrations with third-party services
• Work with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security (RLS) configurations
• Write raw SQL and manage schema migrations using tools like node-postgres and node-pg-migrate
• Contribute to frontend development using React when needed
• Develop comprehensive testing strategies, including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines for continuous deployment
• Utilize AI coding assistants to enhance development efficiency
• Ensure secure architecture in multi-tenant environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and overlap with US business hours

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience with a backend focus
• Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript
• Proven track record building low-latency API services in AWS
• Experience with PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Demonstrated ability writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations
• Professional experience with React
• Strong testing practices including integration and fault-injection testing
• Experience with AI coding assistants in daily development workflow
• CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance skills
• Solid full stack development understanding
• Experience working with large, complex systems
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Extreme ownership and accountability for deliverables
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Positive mindset and collaborative approach

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models
• Familiarity with Fastify and schema-first validation (e.g., Zod)
• Experience running containerized services on AWS Fargate/ECS
• Background in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains such as fintech or telecom
