Teamleiter Accounting (m/w/d)

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization in Düsseldorf seeking an experienced Accounting Team Leader (m/w/d) to take ownership of financial operations across multiple entities. This role combines hands-on accounting expertise with first-time leadership responsibilities, offering meaningful work in a sector with strong societal impact.

Responsibilities

• Independent management of accounting operations for a defined group of legal entities
• Preparation and quality assurance of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements according to HGB
• Review and approval of ongoing business transactions, account reconciliations, and payment runs
• Preparation and support of VAT pre-registrations and other tax obligations
• Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external partners
• Lead and develop a small accounting team, including onboarding and task delegation
• Act as first point of contact for technical questions and foster knowledge sharing within the team
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership on process optimization and standardization
• Active participation in accounting software usage (DATEV and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central)
• Support integration of new entities into existing processes and systems

What We're Looking For

• Completed commercial training, ideally as a tax specialist (Steuerfachangestellter), certified accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter), or equivalent qualification
• Several years of professional experience in HGB accounting, ideally in client-facing roles, with proven ability to prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Initial leadership experience or mentoring responsibility (e.g., as team lead or senior guiding junior colleagues)
• Strong proficiency with DATEV and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• German language skills at C1 level or higher
• Reliable, structured, and detail-oriented working style
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative mindset
• Ownership mentality—you take responsibility for your area and actively contribute ideas
• Team player who enjoys developing and supporting others
