Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential nonprofit organization in Bonn seeking a working student to support their information security team. In this role, you will contribute to audits, security processes, and IT security projects while gaining practical experience across ISO 27001 compliance, incident management, and modern security frameworks.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and coordinating audits, security forums, and emergency response exercises
• Maintaining and updating security processes, policies, and documentation to ensure clarity and currency
• Supporting the operation of an information security management system (ISMS) and understanding key influencing factors
• Contributing to projects involving AI in IT security, Zero Trust architecture, and cloud security—from research through prototyping
• Reviewing and processing central security information as part of continuous improvement initiatives
• Assisting with updates to emergency plans, security guidelines, and operational handbooks

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a candidate who is:

• Currently enrolled in computer science, business informatics, or a related field
• Equipped with foundational knowledge of networks and operating systems
• Interested in ISO 27001 standards and information security management systems
• Ideally familiar with data protection and information security legislation (desirable but not required)
• An excellent communicator with strong teamwork skills
• Self-motivated and eager to learn

The position offers 15-20 hours per week with flexible scheduling to accommodate your studies, including partial remote work options. This is a temporary contract through the end of December.
