About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology client in South Africa seeking a Full-Stack Developer with specialized October CMS expertise. This remote position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated interactive platforms that combine creative design with technical excellence. Our client operates in the digital learning and simulation space, serving a global client base.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain custom October CMS themes, plugins, and components for high-performance interactive platforms
- Build bespoke functionality using PHP and Laravel, managing database schema design through to AJAX-heavy frontend interactions
- Implement performance optimization strategies including advanced caching, asset minification, and database tuning to ensure fast load times for global users
- Develop and consume RESTful APIs to integrate with third-party CRM, marketing, and analytics systems
- Collaborate with creative teams to bridge technical execution with design vision
- Maintain version control workflows and participate in deployment processes
What We're Looking For
Required Skills:
- Proven experience building complex applications with October CMS, including deep familiarity with the Twig templating engine, AJAX Framework (data attributes and JavaScript API), and plugin development
- Strong Laravel framework knowledge including Eloquent ORM, Migrations, Service Providers, and Middleware
- Modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3 proficiency with Sass or Tailwind experience
- Git version control expertise
- Understanding of deployment pipelines and DevOps workflows
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience with Vue.js or React frameworks
- Familiarity with Three.js or Babylon.js for interactive 3D implementations
- Performance optimization experience handling large assets across devices and browsers
- Background working in creative studio environments alongside designers and artists
