Contract Platform Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Contract Platform Engineer for a 3-month B2B engagement with potential for extension. This is a remote position for EU-based candidates working in the GMT timezone.

In this role, you'll join a client team responsible for cloud access and identity management alongside significant infrastructure-as-code responsibilities. You'll control permissions and access across a multi-account cloud estate and deploy the tooling that supports it. Because this is shared infrastructure that multiple teams rely on, success means careful change management, strong governance, and effectively unblocking other engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage cloud access and identity systems across a complex cloud estate
• Maintain and evolve infrastructure-as-code for shared, high-impact systems
• Control permissions and access policies for users and services across cloud environments
• Deploy and manage tooling that supports infrastructure operations
• Practice careful change management for systems many teams depend on
• Unblock engineering teams by providing secure, well-governed infrastructure access
• Maintain reliability and testing standards for platform code

What We're Looking For

• Strong, hands-on AWS experience, particularly with IAM, IAM Identity Center/SSO, and AWS Organizations (essential)
• Production experience with Terraform
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes
• Proven track record running shared, high-blast-radius infrastructure
• Experience with GitHub Actions for CI/CD, including OIDC federation to cloud providers
• Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog or CloudWatch
• Scripting ability in Python or JavaScript
• Multi-cloud experience is a plus
• Strong focus on clean engineering practices, including testing and reliability
• Comfort using AI tools to augment your work where they add genuine value
• Available to work GMT timezone hours
• Based in the EU and able to work on a B2B contract basis
