DevOps / SRE / DevSecOps Engineer (AWS) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy with operations across the Americas. We are seeking an experienced DevOps/SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to join their growing infrastructure team. This remote position is open to candidates based in Latin America who can overlap with US business hours.

You'll work on meaningful projects for diverse clients, contributing to high-availability systems that require robust security, compliance, and operational excellence. Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• Operate production databases including Aurora/PostgreSQL with multi-AZ failover, read replicas, and performance monitoring
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with tested rollback paths and deployment automation
• Implement and manage containerized workloads using Docker and ECS/Fargate
• Establish monitoring, logging, and observability using tools like OpenTelemetry and CloudWatch
• Conduct load testing and operate services against defined latency SLOs and error budgets
• Apply security best practices including vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance hardening
• Support SOC 2 audit evidence collection and respond to client security reviews
• Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and conduct root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure reliability and security across the software delivery lifecycle

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, SRE, or DevSecOps roles
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services: ECS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, ALB, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, S3
• Production experience operating Aurora/PostgreSQL including failover scenarios and replica lag monitoring
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation
• Experience with Docker containerization and ECS/Fargate orchestration
• Proven track record building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with deployment automation and rollback procedures, including rollback drills
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, CloudWatch, or similar)
• Experience with load testing tools (k6 or similar) and SLO/error budget management
• Security-first mindset with practical experience in vulnerability scanning, secrets management, and compliance practices
• Experience supporting SOC 2 or similar audit processes and security reviews
• Background in incident response, on-call support, and root-cause analysis
• Experience working with large, complex systems
• Bachelor's degree
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Accountability for deliverables and commitment to team goals

Preferred:

• Experience with S3 Object Lock and long-term archival for compliance retention
• Experience supporting secure multi-tenant environments (e.g., PostgreSQL Row-Level Security)
• Familiarity with database migration tooling and expand/contract schema changes
• Background in compliance-sensitive or audit-heavy domains such as fintech or telecom
