Senior Billing Associate (12-month FTC)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential commerce technology organization in their search for a Senior Billing Associate on a 12-month fixed-term contract basis. This London-based role offers the chance to take ownership of complex billing operations within a rapidly scaling business that serves global merchants.

This is a hands-on senior position combining sophisticated billing and reconciliation work with systems implementation, automation, and process improvement. You'll operate independently to solve complex billing challenges while helping build scalable, automated processes to support continued growth.

The ideal candidate is a problem solver who thrives in scale-up environments—equally comfortable working strategically and diving into detailed transactional work. You'll review complex billing issues, improve processes, implement systems, and eliminate operational bottlenecks.

Responsibilities

• Own recurring billing operations, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and delivery within agreed timelines
• Prepare and review complex billing calculations and manage customer billing investigations through to resolution
• Perform reconciliations, investigate exceptions, and identify revenue leakage, anomalies, and data integrity issues
• Identify root causes of recurring billing issues and drive improvements to processes, controls, and operational workflows
• Partner with Finance, Product, and operational teams to translate requirements into effective billing processes
• Support ERP transition activities, including data migration, validation, and re-allocation of transactions and balances
• Support the design, testing, and implementation of billing engines, data pipelines, and automation
• Drive adoption of automation and AI-driven workflows across billing, reconciliation, anomaly detection, and exception management

What We're Looking For

• 4–6+ years' experience in Billing, Revenue, Accounts Receivable, or Finance Operations
• Experience with complex, usage-based, or multi-stream revenue models
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence manipulating and reconciling large datasets
• Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes
• Experience with ERP, billing system implementations, automation, or process transformation projects
• Exposure to or strong interest in applying AI and automation within Finance operations
• Ability to take ownership, prioritize independently, and operate with minimal supervision
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and change, taking ownership and building rather than maintaining
• Ability to operate as both a strategic thinker and hands-on operator
