About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI research organization seeking a Medicinal Chemist for a fully remote contract engagement. This specialized role supports the development of AI models for drug discovery by designing realistic research problems and validation frameworks.
Location: Germany (Fully Remote)
Employment Type: Contract
Commitment: 20–40 hours per week
Responsibilities
- Design realistic research problems for AI models focused on drug research and development
- Build comprehensive data rooms using real, source-grounded data with full traceability to original sources
- Develop grading documents that evaluate submitted work on scientific substance rather than presentation style
- Conduct validation, verification, and calibration processes before submission
- Own revisions and rework based on reviewer feedback
- Work independently and asynchronously while maintaining high-quality deliverables
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Working expertise in one or more of the following areas: mechanistic enzymology, structure-guided peptide or antibody design, fragment-based discovery, or structure-based medicinal chemistry
- PhD in a relevant field or equivalent industry track record
- Demonstrated ability to pose research problems whose answers can be defended rigorously
- Comfortable evaluating reasoning quality and methodology, not just final answers
- Strong independent work ethic with excellent asynchronous communication skills
