Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential manufacturing organization in the Zweibrücken area. We are seeking a Senior Buyer with deep expertise in steel procurement to join their strategic sourcing team. This role offers significant autonomy in developing commodity strategies and managing critical supplier relationships across national and international markets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commodity strategies for steel categories including sheets, profiles, forgings, and castings
• Analyze national and international procurement markets to identify opportunities and risks
• Select, qualify, and develop supplier relationships with a focus on performance optimization
• Independently negotiate framework agreements, pricing structures, and commercial terms
• Conduct cost analyses and implement savings initiatives across the steel portfolio
• Collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams
• Manage supply chain risks including availability, price volatility, and geopolitical factors
• Support make-or-buy decisions with data-driven insights
• Resolve escalations within the supply chain through effective stakeholder management

What We're Looking For

• Completed degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in strategic procurement, ideally within industrial manufacturing or related sectors
• Genuine curiosity and passion for technical products and commercial relationships
• Confident presence and strong negotiation skills with proven ability to influence outcomes
• Experience working with international suppliers across diverse markets
• Proficiency with ERP systems (such as SAP) and MS Office applications
• Analytical, structured, and independent working style
• Fluent German and English language skills for business negotiations
• High willingness to travel domestically and internationally
