About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking an experienced Oracle Database Engineer to join their infrastructure team. This position is based in Berkeley Heights, NJ, and offers the opportunity to work with enterprise-scale database systems across hybrid cloud environments.
Our client operates mission-critical database infrastructure supporting their core business operations. You'll be working with cutting-edge Oracle technologies including Cloud Infrastructure platforms and high-performance database systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement Oracle database environments across on-premises data centers and cloud infrastructure
- Migrate databases to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms including Exadata Cloud@Customer (ExaCC) and Exadata Cloud Service (ExaCS)
- Support and maintain mission-critical Oracle database systems ensuring high availability and performance
- Monitor database health, optimize performance, and troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Collaborate with application teams and infrastructure engineers on database architecture and capacity planning
- Implement backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
- Maintain documentation and follow established change management processes
What We're Looking For
- Extensive experience with Oracle Database administration and engineering
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platforms
- Knowledge of Exadata systems (Cloud@Customer and Cloud Service)
- Strong understanding of database performance tuning, backup and recovery procedures
- Experience with database migrations and upgrades in enterprise environments
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
