Databricks Engineer

About This Opportunity

Our client, a confidential healthcare organization focused on maternal health initiatives, is seeking a Data Engineer to join their technical team. We are representing them in this search and will coordinate all introductions through our talent team at Get A Job.ai.

In this role, you will build and maintain secure, scalable data pipelines supporting HIPAA-regulated healthcare data workflows. You'll work primarily with Databricks and modern data stack technologies to ensure compliant handling of protected health information while enabling analytics that support critical maternal health programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks for HIPAA-regulated healthcare datasets
• Develop ETL/ELT workflows that handle protected health information (PHI) securely and in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Implement and optimize data transformations using PySpark and Python
• Manage Delta Lake architecture to support versioning, reliability, and performance
• Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and quality validation
• Collaborate with analytics and clinical teams to understand data requirements for maternal health initiatives
• Ensure data pipeline observability, monitoring, and error handling
• Support cloud data platform operations and infrastructure

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks in production environments
• Proficiency in PySpark and Python for large-scale data processing
• Advanced SQL skills for complex data manipulation and analysis
• Experience with Delta Lake for data lake management
• Proven track record building ETL/ELT pipelines
• Cloud data platform experience (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Practical experience handling PHI or other regulated data in healthcare or similar industries
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements and data security best practices
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to data quality
