Frontend Engineer Specialist

About This Role

We are representing a confidential technology organization seeking a Frontend Engineer Specialist for a remote contract engagement. This is a unique opportunity to contribute your frontend expertise to an AI training initiative—no prior AI experience required. You'll leverage your deep knowledge of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and React while applying your ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and thoughtfully through written documentation.

Our client values engineers who can both build and articulate—those who understand architectural decisions and can explain the "why" behind technical choices in a structured, impactful way.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document frontend engineering decisions, presenting clear written rationales for technical approaches and architectural patterns
• Evaluate code samples, component architectures, and state management solutions, providing contextual and actionable written feedback
• Produce high-quality technical documents such as RFCs, ADRs, and design notes to guide development processes
• Communicate complex frontend concepts—including performance optimization, accessibility, and rendering strategies—through precise, well-structured written output
• Participate in code review simulations and technical discussions, synthesizing insights into clear, constructive commentary
• Contribute expert-level domain input that shapes AI model development in the context of real-world frontend engineering tasks

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional frontend engineering experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React (or comparable frameworks)
• Strong command of modern HTML/CSS practices
• Proven ability to author clear, technically rigorous documentation including RFCs, ADRs, or detailed code review feedback
• Solid grounding in component architecture, state management patterns, and frontend performance optimization
• Demonstrated familiarity with accessibility standards and inclusive web development practices (a11y)
• Experience with server-side rendering (SSR), client-side rendering (CSR), and static site generation (SSG) strategies
• Exceptional written English communication skills with the ability to convey sophisticated technical subjects to varied audiences
• Background with leading technology organizations or top academic institutions is a plus
