University Health Network seeks a detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician - Inventory Services to join our pharmacy operations team in Toronto, Ontario. This full-time position is based on-site and offers the opportunity to develop expertise in pharmaceutical inventory management within Canada's largest integrated health network.
What This Role Involves
As a Pharmacy Technician specializing in Inventory Services at University Health Network, you'll play a critical part in ensuring consistent, accurate pharmaceutical supply chain operations across our network of hospitals and clinics. Your focus will be on managing stock levels, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting clinical teams with timely access to the medications and supplies they need to deliver patient care.
What You'll Do
- Receive, verify, and shelve pharmaceutical products and medical supplies according to established protocols
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy
- Monitor pharmaceutical expiry dates and remove expired products from circulation
- Prepare and distribute medications and supplies to clinical units as requested
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies and potential supply chain issues
- Support the ordering and procurement process for pharmacy products
- Maintain organized, clean storage areas that comply with safety and regulatory standards
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff, procurement teams, and clinical units to optimize inventory efficiency
Skills & Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or equivalent training
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with Professional Pharmacists Ontario (or equivalent provincial credentials)
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail capabilities
- Proficiency with pharmacy inventory management systems and software
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical classifications, handling protocols, and storage requirements
- Ability to lift and move cartons regularly
