Senior Staff Product Manager, Browser Control Platform

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking a Senior Staff Product Manager to own the browser control platform. This role defines the secure, reliable foundation that enables external software and internal teams to drive browser automation and AI-assisted workflows.

You will own the shared platform layer and its strategy, working in a fast-moving, greenfield space that requires equal parts strategic vision and hands-on execution. Your work will serve multiple audiences: internal product teams building automated tools, third-party AI assistants, and the broader developer community.

• Own the shared foundation and building blocks that enable external software to interact with the browser securely and reliably
• Drive open standards forward while building proprietary advantages where standards fall short
• Design safety and transparency controls that let users approve actions, monitor automated activity, and maintain control
• Define go-to-market strategy for major third-party AI assistant integrations
• Serve both internal teams and external tools through a unified platform layer
• Set priorities across competing opportunities: internal automation, AI tool partnerships, and developer adoption
• Ensure platform adoption, usage volume, and sustained reliability meet team targets

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who can think like a product leader and execute like an engineer. This is a highly technical product role requiring deep developer empathy and platform thinking.

• Product-minded engineer or exceptionally technical PM comfortable driving a developer-facing platform
• Experience in developer tooling with range to think about consumer use cases and internal platform needs
• Proven ability to set strategy in ambiguous spaces and own technical contracts that other teams depend on
• Strong instincts around security, trust, and user control in automated systems
• Demonstrated success balancing multiple stakeholder needs across internal and external audiences
• Nice to have: experience with web standards, browser automation protocols, or similar control platforms
