MCP Expert

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client seeking an MCP Expert for a contract engagement. This is a flexible, remote position requiring approximately 15 hours per week. You'll contribute your software engineering expertise to help develop training environments that advance AI capabilities—no prior AI experience necessary.

In this role, you'll design reinforcement learning environments that test AI systems' ability to solve real-world software engineering challenges using Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools. Your work will involve creating reproducible scenarios around bug fixes, feature implementation, code refactoring, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build reproducible testing environments for complex software engineering problems
• Create deterministic verification systems and reference solutions that measure both tool use and engineering ability
• Develop scenarios involving debugging, feature development, refactoring, and performance optimization
• Ensure environments require agents to discover and reason over information from real MCP servers
• Produce high-quality, maintainable solutions that meet project specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fully remote setting

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proficiency in one or more: C++, Python, Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Rust
• Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning
• Demonstrated experience debugging complex software issues and delivering maintainable solutions
• Strong background in feature development and codebase refactoring
• Proven ability to optimize software for performance and scalability
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with keen attention to detail
• Track record of success in collaborative, remote team environments
• Ability to start within 24–48 hours of completing onboarding

Preferred:

• Experience working on large-scale, distributed codebases
• Familiarity with modern AI or machine learning systems (not required)
• Background in rigorous code reviews and developing software best practices

Pay

Compensation for this role is output-based. Experts are paid per task that meets project specifications. Time required may vary depending on your experience and workflow. Minimum weekly submission requirements apply. Specific rates will be discussed during the interview process with Get A Job.ai.
