About This Opportunity
We are representing a leading global media and marketing organization in their search for an Associate Director, Planning to join their London team. Our client operates at the forefront of data-driven media strategy, working with world-class brands to deliver creative campaigns at scale.
This is a highly strategic role requiring deep analytical thinking, commercial acumen, and innovative problem-solving. You'll work in a collaborative environment with forward-thinking clients who are genuinely enthusiastic about pushing boundaries and delivering market-leading work.
Responsibilities
- Build and target audiences in addressable and non-addressable media, validating media approaches to ensure defined audiences can be reached at required scale
- Design strategies outlining how and where to connect with defined audiences, especially hard-to-reach or low media engagement segments, for both brand and performance campaigns
- Connect data from multiple sources—client, media owners, and internal teams—to plan most effectively
- Design the connections ecosystem and media plan, working collaboratively with channel specialists and wider agency teams across paid, owned, and earned perspectives
- Manage day-to-day campaigns and annual planning as key liaison between clients and channel specialists
- Design measurement and testing frameworks to inform, measure, and optimize live campaigns
- Manage and develop junior team members, building their skills and capabilities
What We're Looking For
- Broad understanding of all media channels with confident ability to discuss their role within communications strategy
- Interest in both brand and performance campaigns with some knowledge of ecommerce
- Excellent knowledge of audience research and planning tools (e.g., TGI, Touchpoints); familiarity with alternative sources such as media owner tools is a plus
- Ability to draw clear insights and implications for media, connecting outputs from different insight systems successfully
- Demonstrated passion for media and understanding of what makes great media campaigns, with tangible evidence of planning excellence
- Strong capability to create holistic measurement frameworks relevant to brands, setting KPIs, methods, and necessary tracking for campaign optimization
- Confidence in presenting with passion and conviction, managing senior client relationships, running agency team sessions, and leading client projects
- Collaborative team player who leads by example through presence and contribution
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in output, and strong organizational skills to manage workflow for self and junior team members
- Proactive desire to continually improve knowledge and skill set
- Open-minded, flexible approach with a challenger mindset
- Right to work in the UK is required for this role
