Cost Manager – Data Centre

Turner & Townsend seeks an experienced Cost Manager to join our Data Centre team in London. This full-time position offers the opportunity to manage financial planning and cost control for mission-critical infrastructure projects in the UK's dynamic data centre sector.

Role Overview

As Cost Manager for Data Centre operations, you will take responsibility for managing project budgets, monitoring expenditure, and providing accurate financial forecasting to senior stakeholders. Working within a growing consultancy specialising in real estate and infrastructure, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our data centre clients achieve their financial objectives whilst maintaining the highest standards of cost control and project delivery.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and maintain detailed project budgets and cost plans for data centre developments and operational projects
• Monitor and control project costs throughout all stages of delivery, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions
• Produce financial reports, forecasts, and analysis for project teams and client stakeholders
• Conduct cost benchmarking and value engineering to optimise expenditure without compromising quality
• Manage cost data, documentation, and financial records with precision and attention to detail
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure aligned financial planning
• Support tender evaluation and supplier cost analysis

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong background in cost management, quantity surveying, or project finance
• Proficiency with cost management software and advanced Excel for financial modelling
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
• Knowledge of data centre environments or large-scale infrastructure projects (desirable)
• Professional qualification in surveying, accountancy, or finance (preferred)
• Clear written and verbal communication with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all financial reporting
