Supplier Quality Engineer

Mattel is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join our operations team in Le Chan District, Hải Phòng, Vietnam. In this full-time role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our global supply chain meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.

About This Position

As a Supplier Quality Engineer at Mattel, you'll oversee quality assurance and process improvements across our supplier network. This position is essential to maintaining the integrity of our manufacturing partnerships and delivering safe, high-quality products to consumers worldwide. You'll work directly with suppliers, internal engineering teams, and quality specialists to identify opportunities for enhancement and resolve issues that impact production efficiency and product excellence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site audits and assessments at supplier facilities to verify compliance with Mattel quality standards and specifications
• Evaluate supplier performance metrics, including defect rates, on-time delivery, and process capability
• Develop and implement corrective action plans in partnership with suppliers to address quality discrepancies
• Review incoming materials and components to ensure they meet technical and safety requirements
• Collaborate with product engineering and procurement teams to establish clear quality expectations and supplier scorecards
• Document quality findings and maintain records of audit results, test data, and compliance verification
• Identify process improvement opportunities and mentor suppliers on best practices in quality management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, electrical engineering, or related discipline; or equivalent professional experience in quality assurance
• Proven experience in supplier quality management, quality auditing, or manufacturing quality control
• Strong knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or equivalent frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities, with capability to work effectively with international teams
• Proficiency with quality management systems, inspection techniques, and statistical analysis tools
• Willingness to travel to supplier facilities as needed for audits and process reviews
