Managing Director, Evidence & Strategy

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare advisory organization seeking a Managing Director to join their Evidence & Strategy practice. This is a senior leadership role where you'll drive business development, thought leadership, and strategic consulting for life sciences clients across the United States.

In this position, you will lead client engagements focused on real-world evidence generation, patient-centric value strategies, and healthcare analytics. Approximately 75% of your time will be dedicated to business development with new and existing clients, while 25% will focus on project delivery and executive sponsorship of strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development efforts to generate new client relationships and expand existing accounts within the life sciences sector
• Serve as Project Lead or Executive Sponsor for strategic evidence generation and healthcare research projects
• Develop protocols, evaluation plans, and strategic analyses supporting patient access and value-based outcomes
• Present research findings to diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives and healthcare policy leaders
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring delivery of short- and long-term objectives
• Execute mixed-methods research projects, including RFP development, vendor selection, and budget management
• Prepare and deliver manuscripts, posters, and presentations for clients and external conferences
• Provide thought leadership and mentorship to junior colleagues across the practice

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in health policy, public health, healthcare management, health economics, or business administration with 8-10 years of relevant experience; OR undergraduate degree in similar fields with 12+ years of experience
• Deep consulting experience with life sciences clients, particularly pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics, or digital health companies
• 5+ years of management and supervisory experience with proven leadership and staff development skills
• Demonstrated ability to establish credibility as a real-world evidence expert with senior-level clients
• Strong business development track record in healthcare consulting or advisory services
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain complex concepts clearly to executives
• Proven project management experience including budget oversight and timeline management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with capacity to work across functional areas
• Commitment to team collaboration and maintaining positive client relationships
