Role Overview
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure DevOps team delivers mission-critical, customer-facing CI/CD and platform capabilities that power enterprises worldwide. As a Senior Principal Software Developer - IC5, you'll own technical strategy for major initiatives spanning distributed systems architecture, cloud infrastructure resilience, and next-generation DevOps solutions. This is an opportunity to drive decisions that shape how thousands of organizations deploy, scale, and secure their workloads. You'll combine hands-on technical excellence with architectural leadership, influencing both engineering teams and product direction while tackling problems that define the future of enterprise cloud infrastructure.
Core Duties
- Design and architect highly scalable, secure distributed systems and cloud infrastructure solutions serving enterprise customers globally
- Own end-to-end technical delivery for complex platform initiatives from conception through production optimization
- Build and evolve customer-facing CI/CD capabilities that enable reliable, efficient software delivery at enterprise scale
- Lead innovation in cloud infrastructure performance, security, and reliability across distributed environments
- Establish and enforce technical standards, mentoring senior engineers and elevating architectural practices across teams
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, customer success, and infrastructure teams to translate business needs into robust platform solutions
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven expertise designing and operating distributed systems at global scale
- Deep experience with cloud infrastructure platforms, DevOps ecosystems, or continuous integration/deployment systems
- Advanced proficiency in systems programming languages and cloud-native architecture patterns
- Demonstrated track record leading major technical initiatives and mentoring high-performing engineering teams
- Strong foundation in security, performance optimization, and reliability practices for enterprise systems
- Excellent problem-solving ability and genuine passion for complex infrastructure challenges
