About the Role

The Chief Technical Architect Office drives innovation across Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), one of the industry's most advanced hyperscale platforms. As an Architect in this office, you'll establish technical vision, design cloud service architecture, and ensure engineering teams execute that vision with precision and accountability. This is a leadership role for someone who thinks in systems-level terms and can translate complex technical challenges into clear strategic direction.

What You'll Do

• Define architectural strategies for core cloud services operating at hyperscale, ensuring reliability, performance, and security
• Design distributed systems and microservices architectures that handle petabyte-scale workloads across global regions
• Lead technical design reviews and architecture assessments across multiple engineering teams
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and infrastructure teams to align technical direction with business objectives
• Mentor senior engineers and architects, raising the bar for design excellence across the organization
• Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural patterns for applicability to OCI's platform roadmap
• Drive execution of architectural decisions through influence and technical credibility

What We're Looking For

• Deep expertise in distributed systems design, cloud infrastructure, and large-scale systems architecture
• Proven track record designing and deploying systems that serve millions of concurrent users or billions of transactions
• Strong technical judgment and ability to make sound architectural decisions under uncertainty
• Excellent communication and leadership skills; able to influence cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Significant experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering, or related technical leadership roles
• Knowledge of modern cloud platforms, containerization, orchestration, and related technologies
• Passion for building systems that solve real-world problems at scale
