Critical Care Float Nurse / Float RN (ICU)

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a dedicated Critical Care Float Nurse to join our intensive care team in Lowell, Middlesex County. As a full-time Float RN, you'll deliver high-quality patient care across multiple critical care units, bringing clinical expertise and flexibility to our ICU operations.

About the Role

This full-time position offers the opportunity to work as a floating Registered Nurse within our critical care environment. As a Float RN in the ICU, you'll provide compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to patients experiencing acute and complex medical conditions. Your adaptability and clinical judgment will be essential as you rotate among different critical care units, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional healthcare outcomes.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care, monitoring vital signs and administering medications in the intensive care setting
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans for acutely ill patients
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary clinical teams to optimize patient recovery and outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Respond to changing patient acuity levels and adjust care priorities accordingly
• Uphold strict infection control and patient safety protocols
• Adapt quickly to different unit environments and clinical team dynamics

What We're Looking For

• Active RN license in good standing
• Clinical experience and knowledge in critical care nursing
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced critical care environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Physical capability to meet the demands of patient care
