About the Role
As a newly licensed Registered Nurse, you'll deliver evidence-based care to adult patients across our medicine units at Yale New Haven Health's Norwich campus. You'll work alongside experienced nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care, clinical assessments, and nursing interventions. This role is ideal for recent nursing graduates ready to apply clinical knowledge in a structured, mentored setting.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care including vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and patient hygiene assistance
- Perform clinical assessments and document patient conditions using electronic health records
- Monitor patients on telemetry equipment in acute care settings
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and care team members to develop and implement treatment plans
- Respond to patient needs with compassion and professionalism, maintaining safe patient environments
- Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding care and treatment options
- Support specialty care in renal and palliative medicine when assigned to those units
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in Connecticut
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Strong clinical and critical thinking skills
