Registered Nurse – ICU Float Unit

Yale New Haven Health seeks a Registered Nurse for our ICU Float Unit in New Haven, Connecticut. This full-time position offers the opportunity to provide critical care across multiple intensive care departments, supporting patients and families through complex medical situations.

About the Role

Working under the direction of the nursing manager, you'll deliver individualized, goal-directed patient care within our ICU Float Unit. This role requires clinical flexibility and strong decision-making as you rotate across different patient populations and care settings within our health system.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive patient assessment and ongoing monitoring in intensive care environments
• Develop and implement individualized, goal-directed nursing care plans
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols and clinical standards
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation of patient status and interventions
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition with sound clinical judgment
• Operate and troubleshoot critical care equipment and monitoring systems
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families during critical health events

What We're Looking For

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
• Ability to deliver individualized care in dynamic, high-acuity environments
• Clinical knowledge or demonstrated commitment to developing expertise in intensive care nursing
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Dedication to patient-centered, compassionate care delivery
• Flexibility to work across different ICU units and adapt to varying patient needs
