About the Role
This full-time position welcomes newly licensed registered nurses to the ICU at SSM Health DePaul Hospital, where you'll build clinical expertise in critical care nursing. You'll work 12-hour evening shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on a rotating schedule, with every third weekend included and holiday coverage required. A key benefit of this role: there's no on-call requirement, so you can maintain predictability in your work-life balance.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, using evidence-based nursing practices
- Monitor vital signs, assess clinical changes, and communicate findings to the care team
- Work alongside physicians, respiratory therapists, and nurses to support recovery and quality outcomes
- Document patient care accurately and maintain thorough medical records
- Interact with patients and families with compassion, providing support and clear communication
- Develop hands-on competency with ICU technology, medication delivery, and life support systems under expert guidance
- Participate in safety initiatives and ongoing professional development
What We're Looking For
- Completion of an accredited registered nurse degree program
- Current eligibility to practice nursing as verified by your state Board of Nursing
