About the Role
This full-time position offers newly licensed RNs a structured entry into professional nursing practice within our orthopedic unit. Working evening shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. with rotating nights and every third weekend required, you'll gain hands-on experience and mentorship in a supportive hospital environment. There is no on-call requirement for this role.
What You'll Do
- Provide direct patient care to orthopedic surgery patients during postoperative recovery and rehabilitation phases
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform clinical assessments with guidance and oversight
- Assist patients with mobility, positioning, and pain management following orthopedic procedures
- Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and nursing staff to support optimal patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families about postoperative care, activity restrictions, and recovery expectations
- Document patient progress and maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Contribute to a compassionate care environment that prioritizes patient safety and comfort
What We're Looking For
- Recent graduate of an accredited nursing program with current or pending RN licensure eligibility
- Missouri State Board of Nursing approval to practice as a registered nurse
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with commitment to patient-centered care
