About the Role
This full-time position offers newly graduated nurses a structured entry point into clinical practice. You'll work overnight shifts in our cardiac telemetry unit, where you'll develop core nursing competencies while contributing meaningfully to patient safety and outcomes. What You'll Do
- Monitor continuous cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias or patient changes requiring immediate intervention
- Assess and document vital signs, intake and output, and other clinical indicators
- Provide direct patient care including hygiene, comfort measures, and patient education
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Perform nursing procedures and apply clinical protocols consistent with evidence-based practice standards
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Uphold infection prevention and patient safety practices
What We're Looking For
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate or Bachelor degree)
- Eligible to practice nursing in Illinois or able to obtain state licensure
- Ability to work full-time overnight shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Willingness to rotate every third weekend and work required holidays
- No on-call requirements
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork abilities
- Commitment to patient-centered care and professional development
