Dental Receptionist

Sage Dental in Valrico, Hillsborough County is seeking a Dental Receptionist to serve as the welcoming front‑office professional who keeps the practice running smoothly.

About the Role

As the first point of contact for patients, you will create a warm, organized environment that reflects Sage Dental’s commitment to compassionate care. This full‑time position supports daily clinic operations by managing patient flow, handling administrative tasks, and contributing to a positive patient experience from check‑in to checkout.

What You'll Do

• Greet patients with a friendly demeanor and ensure a smooth check‑in process
• Answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, and confirm upcoming visits
• Verify patient insurance information and obtain necessary authorizations
• Process co‑payments, collect outstanding balances, and post payments accurately
• Maintain and update electronic health records while safeguarding patient confidentiality
• Coordinate with dental assistants and clinicians to keep the treatment schedule on track
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail, manage office supplies, and keep the reception area tidy
• Assist with basic billing inquiries and direct patients to the appropriate team member when needed

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical or dental office administration is a plus
• Previous experience in a front‑desk, customer service, or administrative role, preferably within a healthcare setting
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient relations
• Proficiency with dental practice management software (experience with Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar systems is advantageous)
• Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain calm in a busy environment
• Basic knowledge of dental insurance verification and billing processes
• Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
