About the Role

This over-the-road truck driving position offers long-haul opportunities as part of U.S. Xpress's nationwide network. You'll operate a dry van, follow all DOT safety and compliance requirements, and deliver cargo on schedule to destinations across the country. The role requires strong attention to detail, reliable time management, and commitment to safe driving practices. OTR drivers at U.S. Xpress typically log approximately 2,000 miles per week, creating stable earning patterns and predictable scheduling.

What You'll Do

• Operate a dry van semi-truck across interstate routes
• Maintain logbooks, vehicle inspections, and DOT documentation
• Deliver cargo on time while meeting safety and quality standards
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
• Communicate with dispatch and coordinate load schedules
• Follow all FMCSA regulations and company safety policies

What We're Looking For

• Valid CDL-A with one to five months of trucking experience
• Clean driving record and DOT medical certification
• Ability to work 12 consecutive days on the road followed by two days home
• Responsibility, reliability, and professional communication skills
• Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. Xpress offers competitive earnings with a guaranteed weekly minimum of $1,400, mileage rates between 46 and 60 cents per mile, and a $2,000 sign-on bonus for new drivers. Strong performers in our OTR fleet earn $1,525 per week, with annual earnings reaching $78,000 or beyond. Team driving options are also available with enhanced sign-on bonuses. This is a consistent, full-time position with predictable payroll and scheduling.
