Working Student – Technical Writer (m/f/x)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential geospatial technology company in their search for a Working Student - Technical Writer to join their Developer Experience and Documentation team in Berlin. This is an excellent opportunity for a current university student to gain hands-on experience creating technical documentation that empowers users and supports cross-functional collaboration.

In this role, you will maintain technical documentation using modern docs-as-code workflows, collaborate closely with engineering and product teams, and contribute to a platform that serves organizations across multiple industries.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of hands-on writing tasks to maintain and update technical documentation
• Produce documentation using a docs-as-code workflow based on Git and Markdown
• Proactively collaborate with engineering and product teams to gather implementation details and ensure accuracy
• Support self-service documentation initiatives that reduce support burden and improve user experience

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program at a German university
• Commitment to a minimum 12-month working student role
• Availability to work up to 20 hours per week during the semester
• English proficiency at C1 level or higher with demonstrated clear writing skills
• Practical experience writing non-academic documentation
• Proven track record of cross-team collaboration with technical stakeholders

Bonus qualifications:

• Working knowledge or background in geospatial science
• Experience with markup languages and version control systems
• Familiarity with Python, Swagger, and Jupyter notebooks
