Werkstudent*in Community Management (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential media organization seeking a working student for community management. In this role, you will:

• Manage online communities for various digital channels and programs
• Engage thoughtfully with community members in comment sections, responding to questions with care and professionalism
• Serve as a solutions-oriented liaison between our client and their social media audiences
• Support editorial teams in crisis management situations and help de-escalate tensions
• Conduct research, provide background information, and fact-check content
• Collaborate closely with social media teams, delivering community insights that inform content strategy
• Create original texts and concepts for social media posts in coordination with editorial teams
• Support theme development and content planning for various formats

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in humanities, media studies, communications, or a related field
• Excellent communication skills with a strong commitment to quality
• Strong writing ability in German with the skill to strike the right tone for different audiences
• Native-level fluency in German and very good English proficiency, both written and spoken
• Deep familiarity with social media platforms and keen awareness of digital trends
• Ability to concentrate and perform well under time pressure; stress resilience is essential
• Reliable, precise, and capable of working independently
• Passion for research with strong ability to evaluate credible sources
• Team player with strong interpersonal skills; prior community management experience is a plus
• Proficiency with standard Adobe and MS Office applications

Position details: Up to 20 hours per week, initially fixed-term contract, based in Mainz or Berlin.
