About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential renewable energy technology client in their search for a Policy & Regulatory Affairs Intern based in Berlin. Our client operates at the intersection of energy transition, smart grid technology, and decentralized power systems. This internship offers hands-on experience in legislative monitoring, stakeholder engagement, and policy development within one of Europe's most dynamic sectors.

This is a full-time internship position requiring a minimum commitment of six months, suitable for Master's students fulfilling a mandatory or voluntary internship requirement, or recent graduates.

Responsibilities

• Monitor ongoing legislative processes at federal and EU levels, analyzing implications for products and customer base
• Independently track assigned policy dossiers and keep the team informed of developments
• Research and contribute to position papers and official statements, from legislative text review through final drafting
• Prepare briefings for meetings with parliamentary representatives, ministries, and industry associations; attend meetings and document outcomes
• Support coalition-building efforts with other industry organizations
• Expand and maintain stakeholder databases and develop monitoring tools

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Master's program or recent graduate available for a minimum six-month full-time internship
• Previous experience in political advocacy or public affairs, with understanding of legislative processes
• Willingness to engage with complex regulatory texts and interest in both the technical and economic dimensions of energy transition, not solely the political aspects
• Structured, reliable, and independent working style with strong research skills and attention to source verification
• Clear writing ability in German and comfortable working with English-language EU documentation
• Enthusiasm for working with digital tools and automation to improve efficiency
• Confident professional presence in German and English; negotiation-level proficiency in Dutch, Spanish, or Swedish is a plus
