VP Commercial & Marketing

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential prediction markets and exchange betting technology company in their search for a VP Commercial & Marketing based in London. Our client is a sophisticated trading platform that has processed significant volume and serves a global trader base. They are at an inflection point where prediction markets are gaining momentum, and they need a senior marketing leader to capitalize on this opportunity across multiple markets including the UK and US.

This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to the COO. You will own the entire marketing function—brand, acquisition, and retention—and be accountable for growth metrics and ROI. If you prefer to lead from a distance, this is not the right fit. Our client needs someone who will set strategy and execute alongside their team.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute a multi-jurisdiction marketing strategy across brand, acquisition, and retention channels
• Drive measurable ROI on the annual marketing budget, ensuring disciplined spend and strong unit economics
• Scale performance marketing across paid channels with relentless focus on CAC, ROAS, and payback periods
• Develop and sharpen brand positioning and voice in a competitive market
• Build and implement retention and lifecycle marketing strategies through CRM to convert first-time users into high-value, loyal customers
• Define, track, and be accountable for key marketing metrics and use data to inform decisions
• Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team
• Partner closely with product, trading, data, and commercial teams to align marketing with business objectives
• Help shape go-to-market strategy for new products and brand initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Senior marketing leader with proven track record scaling a direct-to-consumer brand
• Real experience growing a D2C/consumer business where you owned the customer relationship directly
• Successfully executed marketing strategies across multiple geographic or cultural regions
• Demonstrable record of efficient growth and strong ROI, not just large budgets
• Full-funnel expertise: you've owned brand, performance acquisition, and retention and understand how they work together
• Data-driven approach with fluency in metrics like CAC, LTV, ROAS, and payback
• Hands-on operator who is energized by execution, not just delegation
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills with ability to collaborate across fast-moving, cross-functional teams
• Strong plus: experience in sports, sports betting, or gaming industries
