Senior Strategic Project Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a leading organization in the food manufacturing sector that is seeking a Senior Strategic Project Manager to join their engineering team in Morocco. This is a remote-first role with geographic requirements—candidates must reside within 60 miles of a designated facility and be prepared for regular travel to production sites.

In this position, you will drive complex, large-scale capital projects focused on production optimization and operational efficiency. You'll serve as a subject matter expert in project management, leading cross-functional teams through multi-million dollar initiatives that directly impact manufacturing capabilities and cost structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive project plans including budgets, schedules, risk management, and communication strategies for complex engineering initiatives
• Create detailed cost estimates using sound engineering practices to support organizational decision-making on capital investments
• Build realistic project schedules and proactively monitor progress, identifying potential issues before they impact delivery
• Design preliminary engineering solutions that meet stated project requirements while preventing scope creep
• Lead multiple project teams simultaneously, providing coaching, direction, and oversight to ensure successful outcomes
• Establish and maintain management routines that keep stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle
• Apply advanced knowledge of robotics and controls to deliver innovative process improvements
• Manage vendor relationships and navigate regulatory requirements affecting project execution
• Mentor and develop Associate Engineers, Project Engineers, and Project Managers on the team

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
• 8+ years of relevant engineering and project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 2+ years demonstrated experience in team management, development, or project leadership
• Proven track record managing multi-million dollar projects with large scopes
• Strong understanding of installation and construction project scheduling methodologies
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of engineering economics principles
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Contract administration skills and ability to interpret national codes and standards
• Strong analytical reasoning, organizational planning, and adaptability
• Experience in food processing or manufacturing environments is preferred
• Willingness to travel regularly with extended overnight stays

Pay
