About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential social research institute in Mannheim, Germany, seeking a student assistant to join their microdata team. This role offers hands-on experience in preparing and documenting large-scale survey data while supporting empirical social research.

This is a student position (Studentische Hilfskraft) starting October 1, 2026, with flexible working hours and remote work options available.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and document European Labour Force Survey (EU-LFS) data for research use
• Conduct literature research and synthesize findings
• Support ongoing research activities within the microdata team
• Contribute to data quality assurance and documentation processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in social sciences or a related field
• Strong proficiency in R, Stata, or another statistical software package
• Initial experience with data preparation and analysis
• Very good German language skills and good English proficiency
• Highly careful, reliable, and independent working style
• Interest in a longer-term position (ideally through your studies)
• Passion for empirical social research and working with administrative data

Pay
