Solution Engineer – Public Sector – UK

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology client in their search for a Solution Engineer focused on the UK Public Sector. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a high-performing technical team working on complex data challenges within central government organizations. You'll collaborate with sales, product, and alliance teams to win strategic opportunities, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.

This hybrid role is based in London and requires presence at client sites or the office at least twice weekly, with additional travel to customer locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a functional and technical expert on the platform, demonstrating its capabilities and real-world applications to UK central government stakeholders
• Articulate platform value propositions and demonstrate how solutions address specific operational challenges and enable better decision-making
• Manage technical aspects of the sales cycle, working alongside sales, architecture, and product teams
• Lead the design and execution of proof-of-concept engagements and trials, ensuring alignment with customer objectives
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations both in-person and remotely to audiences ranging from end users to executives
• Facilitate discovery sessions with prospects to uncover core business challenges and technical requirements
• Contribute to winning proposals, including responses to RFPs and RFIs
• Represent the organization at industry events, customer meetings, and webinars
• Collaborate on tailored solution designs with partners, customers, and internal teams
• Build demos, templates, and share best practices that contribute to team enablement

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience in a commercially focused, hands-on technical role such as Solution Engineering, Presales, or Technical Consulting, ideally from a Systems Integrator or technology vendor background
• Demonstrated experience working with UK public sector clients, with strong understanding of operational and technical challenges within central government departments
• Experience leading extensive proving engagements including PoCs, technical workshops, prototypes, and bespoke demonstrations
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with a track record of effective customer engagement
• Ability to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences and captivate stakeholders at all levels
• Confident delivering engaging presentations and pitches that connect functionality to business value

Desired qualifications:

• Strong expertise in data-driven analytical solutions such as Entity Resolution, Graph Analytics, and Master Data Management
• Domain knowledge in UK public sector areas including tax and revenue, social security, or home affairs
• Technical expertise in data storage, processing, and containerization technologies such as distributed file systems (cloud or on-premise), Spark, Kubernetes, and Elasticsearch
