Director, Data Strategy, UK (FTC)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential media agency working with a major UK telecommunications client. This is a fixed-term contract for a Director of Data Strategy based in London, focused on transforming how data and technology deliver meaningful brand experiences in paid media campaigns.

This is an opportunity to lead innovative, award-winning work in a data-rich environment where testing and evolution are actively championed. You'll be at the forefront of AI adoption and drive agency-leading innovation across three consumer brands within a major telco group.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee delivery of test, trial, and strategy recommendations across paid media campaigns on addressable channels using available datasets and technology
• Own technology project workstreams as part of media acceleration roadmaps, including clean room analytics and vendor-specific marketing platforms
• Maintain the paid media audience approach and playbook, ensuring it stays current and relevant
• Serve as a conduit between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and translating complex concepts for diverse stakeholders
• Collaborate with clients and embedded agency teams to define, justify, and request future signals and data products that drive business goals
• Provide light management to a team of three data strategy professionals (Associate Director, Manager, and Associate), ensuring high-quality work delivery and removing blockers
• Work closely with transformation leads to integrate strategic workstreams into campaign activity in measurable, methodical ways
• Maintain data strategy ways of working throughout the campaign cycle with internal agency practices

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of digital agency-side experience in a data-led role (agency, vendor, or client side) with strong emphasis on digital paid media
• Deep interest in media and technology, with understanding of data products, AI, and advertising industry trends
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a matrixed environment
• Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
• Highly developed interpersonal and team-building abilities
• Relentless focus on client success and delivering exceptional experiences
• Understanding of privacy-first media and its implications for data strategy
• Telecommunications experience is preferable but not required
• Must have the right to work in the UK
