Software Engineer – Vehicle OS

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential automotive technology organization seeking a Software Engineer focused on Vehicle OS development for their Stuttgart office. Our client is building next-generation infrastructure for intelligent mobility systems, and we're looking for engineers passionate about developer experience and deployment processes.

In this role, you'll work across engineering teams to identify friction points, improve workflows, develop new tools, and enhance the velocity and reliability of the entire software development and deployment lifecycle for automotive platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve tools, libraries, and frameworks for engineering teams
• Build and test scalable deployment solutions for automotive and cloud platforms
• Optimize compile and build times using tools like Bazel, CMake, and Docker
• Improve software deployment and data collection frameworks
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks within the software stack
• Collaborate across teams to uplevel overall development processes

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 2+ years of relevant experience, or high-performing new graduates with strong academic records (GPA <2.0 on German scale)
• Self-starter with a "can-do" attitude, high energy, and independence to drive projects forward
• Experience using Python, Go, or Java
• Experience with CI, build, and deployment technologies like Bazel, Buildkite, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
• Comfort with scripting for automation
• Experience with Linux and/or ARM systems
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform

Nice to have:

• Experience using C and C++
• Background in automotive or related industries
• Experience deploying software on public clouds or on-premise clusters

Location and Benefits
