About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential fintech client in their search for a talented Software Engineer specializing in Java. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth organization that is building critical financial infrastructure at scale. Our client is transforming how people interact with money globally, and you'll play a key role in shaping their technical foundation during a pivotal growth phase.
This position is based in London with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 3-4 days per week in the office.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend systems that power innovative financial products. Your work will include:
- Building and maintaining REST APIs and microservices architecture
- Contributing to greenfield development projects as well as improving existing systems
- Working on critical business systems including payment processing, treasury management, transaction handling, and liquidity operations
- Developing using a modern technology stack based on Java 25 and PostgreSQL databases
- Leveraging Spring Boot for rapid, high-quality delivery
- Writing clean, maintainable code following TDD and DDD principles
- Participating in continuous integration and delivery practices
What We're Looking For
Our ideal candidate brings:
- Demonstrable backend development experience with strong Java proficiency
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related Engineering/Science discipline
- A track record of building complex products used by millions in hypergrowth startup environments
- Quick learning ability with an ambitious, results-driven personality
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (both verbal and written)
- Passion for writing clean code with emphasis on maintainability and fast turnaround
