About This Opportunity
Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization experiencing rapid global expansion. They are building cross-border payment infrastructure and need a Lead Software Engineer with deep Java expertise to join their London office. This is a greenfield opportunity where you'll architect scalable backend systems that process high-volume financial transactions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems supporting payment processing and financial operations
- Build REST APIs and engineer microservices using Java 25 and Spring Boot
- Work on critical systems including card payments, treasury management, transaction booking, and liquidity management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that support global product growth
- Apply clean code principles with TDD, DDD, and continuous integration practices
- Contribute to architectural decisions in a greenfield development environment
- Work with Postgres databases to ensure data integrity and performance at scale
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrable experience in backend development with strong fluency in Java
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related Engineering/Science discipline
- Proven track record building complex products used by millions of people, ideally in hypergrowth startup environments
- Experience with Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and REST API design
- Strong understanding of TDD, DDD, and CI/CD practices
- Quick learner with ambitious, results-driven personality
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English (verbal and written)
- Ability to work 3-4 days per week in the London office

Pay
