Senior Product Manager: Recall

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential e-commerce technology client seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead search intelligence initiatives. This is a fully remote role for candidates based in the EMEA region.

Our client serves major retail organizations globally, processing billions of search requests weekly. They differentiate through a metrics-first approach, treating search and discovery as machine learning challenges focused on measurable business outcomes.

This role sits at the critical intersection of query understanding and candidate retrieval—where shopper intent meets product discovery in the search pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a unified multi-quarter roadmap across machine learning recall and query intelligence teams
• Lead query understanding initiatives including tokenization, spell correction, entity extraction, intent classification, and LLM-assisted parsing across multiple languages
• Advance candidate generation architecture, combining traditional keyword search with dense embeddings, vector retrieval, and hybrid recall models
• Drive measurable improvements in search-attributed conversion, revenue per visit, and GMV across retail verticals
• Collaborate with ML researchers, data scientists, and engineers to translate state-of-the-art models into low-latency production systems
• Make data-backed decisions balancing model complexity, accuracy, inference latency, compute costs, and real-time execution
• Establish robust offline and online evaluation frameworks connecting retrieval precision to business outcomes
• Ensure seamless pipeline handoffs between candidate generation and downstream ranking systems
• Lead technical triage for query interpretation or retrieval issues, implementing durable automated solutions

What We're Looking For

• Highly technical product management background with deep understanding of search, machine learning, and information retrieval systems
• Strong systems thinking ability to bridge query understanding and candidate retrieval domains
• Experience with modern ML techniques including vector search, semantic parsing, dense embeddings, and LLM applications
• Proven track record driving measurable business metrics (conversion rate, revenue per visit) through product improvements
• Ability to work collaboratively with ML researchers, data scientists, and software engineers
• Experience making technical trade-off decisions balancing performance, latency, and cost
• Strong analytical skills and comfort building evaluation frameworks
• Background in e-commerce or search technology strongly preferred
• Remote work experience and ability to collaborate across time zones
