Global Design Director, Shark Home

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer products organization seeking a Global Design Director to lead creative direction for a major home care brand. In this senior leadership role, you will own the complete visual identity and design strategy across all customer touchpoints—packaging, direct-to-consumer platforms, retail environments, Amazon storefronts, video content, and social media.

You will shape product identities from concept through launch, working upstream with product development and consumer insights teams to influence positioning, naming, and go-to-market strategy before creative briefs are written. This is not an execution-only position—you will build scalable visual systems and campaign platforms that drive demand across the entire marketing funnel.

Your responsibilities include:

• Defining and evolving brand visual direction across all channels and customer experiences
• Creating product identities and positioning frameworks in collaboration with product and insights teams
• Building visual systems and creative platforms that scale across multiple touchpoints
• Designing for modern consumer attention—platform-native, performance-aware, and brand-building simultaneously
• Leading, mentoring, and growing a design team while remaining hands-on in the creative work
• Leveraging AI tools including generative platforms and node-based design systems to accelerate exploration and maintain high creative standards
• Presenting and defending creative direction to senior stakeholders across the organization

What We're Looking For

Our client needs a strategic creative leader who thinks in systems rather than individual assets—someone who understands that platforms and repeatable excellence matter more than one-off campaigns. You must bring sustained creative rigor to every project, with the discipline to revisit, pressure-test, and refine ideas until they achieve genuine excellence.

Required qualifications:

• 10–15+ years in creative direction, design, or art direction, with significant time at senior or director level
• Portfolio demonstrating strong conceptual thinking, visual systems, packaging design, and product identity work
• Proven track record defining and launching brand and product identities from the ground up
• Experience working upstream with product and insights teams to shape positioning before creative development
• Fluency across brand and performance channels—packaging, DTC, Amazon, retail, and social platforms
• Strong instincts for motion design and social-native content
• High craft standards at every level—from system architecture to execution detail
• Deep fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and modern design workflows
• Working, opinionated relationship with AI in the creative process
