About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential AI infrastructure organization in their search for a Senior Product Manager to own vertical search. This is a hands-on senior IC role with genuine product ownership, working within a small product team alongside engineering, research, data, and go-to-market functions.
Our client operates in the AI agent infrastructure space, serving millions of developers and Fortune 500 customers running agents in production. In this role, you will own the layer where public sources combine with premium vertical data to serve specific use cases. You will decide which industries and use cases get productized, evaluate data providers, shape the product surface, and drive adoption through to revenue.
The challenge is prioritization: choosing which verticals to invest in and which to walk away from, even when large customers are asking. You will sit with customers in target industries, understand their workflows, translate needs into clear specs, build with engineering, ship, and ensure go-to-market can sell it effectively.
This role reports to the Director of Product and is based in London.
Responsibilities
- Own the vertical roadmap end-to-end, deciding where to invest, what to ship for each vertical, and when a vertical is not worth pursuing
- Shape the product surface on top of the data layer so customers receive solutions built for their specific jobs
- Find and evaluate data sources behind each vertical, across public sources and paid providers, and decide what merits investment
- Conduct deep customer discovery in target industries, understanding workflows and translating findings into engineering specs
- Define success criteria for each use case, working with the evaluation team on measurement frameworks
- Collaborate with customer success to understand customer requests and churn drivers
- Partner with the search owner on result ranking and shaping for each use case
- Drive outcomes from initial market research through to adoption and revenue, not just product handoff
What We're Looking For
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of product management experience, with significant time in search, data, or industry-specific AI products
- Experience building products for specific industries or use cases, combined with technical depth to work directly on underlying data: sourcing, quality assessment, and usability
- Proven track record of deep customer discovery, going beyond surface-level research to understand how teams actually work and shipping products based on those insights
- Experience in API-first or developer-platform businesses
- Strong understanding of LLMs, AI agents, and how search and retrieval systems integrate into agentic workflows
- Technical background through computer science or engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience, with ability to engage deeply with technical architecture and tradeoffs
- Ability to influence and align cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority
Bonus qualifications:
- Domain experience in market intelligence, news, financial research, or another data-heavy industry
- Background at a data provider, enrichment vendor, market intelligence platform, vertical search company, or building vertical data products in-house
- Experience evaluating and working with external data providers, including quality assessment and commercial negotiation
- Leadership experience in high-growth technology companies, especially post-acquisition or startup-within-larger-organization environments
