Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Acquisition – Düsseldorf, Germany

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI technology company seeking a Software Engineer to join their Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team in Düsseldorf, Germany. Our client operates in the rapidly growing intersection of artificial intelligence and audio processing, building products that serve millions of users globally. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to work on large-scale data infrastructure that powers next-generation AI models.

As part of the data engineering team supporting AI model training, you'll be responsible for building and operating petabyte-scale data collection systems that balance cost, throughput, and quality. This is a hands-on role where you'll work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, data engineering, and AI research.

Responsibilities

• Identify and integrate new sources of audio data into large-scale ingestion pipelines
• Operate and extend cloud infrastructure for data ingestion, currently running on GCP and managed with Terraform
• Collaborate with AI research scientists to optimize the cost, throughput, and quality of datasets at petabyte scale
• Design and implement scalable data processing workflows to support model training operations
• Partner with AI leadership to develop and execute the team's dataset roadmap
• Build infrastructure that delivers high-quality datasets efficiently to power consumer and enterprise AI products

What We're Looking For

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field
• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong proficiency with bash and Python scripting in Linux environments
• Expertise with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code concepts
• Professional experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP experience is a plus)
• Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is highly valued
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias toward action and experimentation
