Applied AI Engineer, Enterprise

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential AI technology organization seeking an Applied AI Engineer to support enterprise clients in Paris. In this role, you will guide major French organizations through the adoption of advanced AI systems, serving as a trusted technical advisor throughout multi-quarter engagements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Partnering with account teams to guide enterprise customers from initial evaluation through technical proof of value, procurement, and deployment decisions
• Leading the technical components of enterprise opportunities, remaining the primary technical advisor throughout implementation
• Preparing clients and their systems integration partners for successful delivery by defining target architectures and success criteria
• Advising engineering teams on architecture, agent design, and evaluation frameworks to support confident decision-making
• Building and presenting business value cases to C-level executives in both French and English, connecting technical capabilities to measurable outcomes such as cost reduction, revenue growth, and risk mitigation
• Navigating complex, multi-stakeholder procurement cycles including technical evaluations, proofs of concept, and security reviews
• Conducting executive briefings, technical workshops, and enablement sessions for leadership and engineering audiences
• Addressing enterprise requirements around security, compliance, data residency, and governance
• Traveling to client sites across France for strategic meetings, workshops, and relationship development
• Identifying patterns across enterprise engagements and providing insights to internal product and engineering teams

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Native or fluent French (written and spoken) as you will work daily with French enterprise customers at both executive and engineering levels
• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Solutions Architect, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder
• Experience in pre-sales or technical advisory roles selling into large enterprises, ideally within the French market
• Demonstrated success with value-based selling, including building business cases, quantifying impact, and presenting to senior decision-makers
• Comfort presenting to and building relationships with C-level and VP-level stakeholders
• Track record of owning technical wins in enterprise deals, including evaluations, proofs of concept, and technical due diligence
• Production experience with LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale
• Hands-on engineering background with experience building and deploying production applications
• Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and architecture requirements
• Ability to explain complex AI concepts clearly to both technical and executive audiences across industries such as financial services, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field

This is a hybrid position based in Paris, with an expectation of regular office presence (approximately 25% or more). The role requires travel to client sites across France. Our client does sponsor visas and retains immigration counsel to support international candidates, though sponsorship success varies by individual circumstances.

Pay

This is a sales-oriented role with on-target earnings. The range provided by our client for the position is €220,000–€235,000 EUR annually, which includes both base salary and sales commissions/bonuses at target achievement.
