Software Engineer, Platform – Frankfurt, Germany

We are representing a confidential text-to-speech technology company headquartered in the United States with users globally. Our client is seeking a Software Engineer, Platform to join their distributed team. This role is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and offers the opportunity to work on backend services that power accessibility solutions used by millions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public text-to-speech APIs, payment systems, subscription services, authentication, and consumption tracking
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, continuously enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
• Contribute to building and maintaining all backend services in a fast-paced, distributed environment

What We're Looking For

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node.js (required)
• Direct hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
• Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently based on urgency and impact
• Strong technical skills with a track record of delivering results consistently and quickly
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset
• Strategic thinking and comfort working in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Proficiency in deploying high-availability applications on Kubernetes
